Working Principle The material to be dried is fed into the upper end of the rotating drum. As the drum turns, the material is lifted by internal flights and then cascades downward, creating a showering effect. Simultaneously, hot air or combustion gases flow through the drum, either co-currently (same direction as material flow) or counter-currently (opposite direction). The cascading action maximizes heat transfer, ensuring uniform drying. The dried product exits at the lower end, while moisture-laden air is expelled through an exhaust system.
